The story

It was in 1947 that Rose Repetto made a unique pair of ballet shoes to relieve the suffering of her ballet dancer son Roland. She imagined a way of stitching the sole inside out for extra comfort and support. Rose Repetto made a name for herself thanks to her expertise. In 1956, she established her legend when she created the 'Cendrillon' ballet flats for Brigitte Bardot in the film 'And God Created Woman'. Four years later, Rose decided to devote herself to making shoes full-time.

From then on the greatest dancers from Opéra Garnier were never seen without their Repetto pointe shoes. In 1970, Rose designed the Zizi lace-ups, which became a favorite with Serge Gainsbourg who bought them by the kilo!

Repetto today

Since the death of Rose in 1984, Repetto has evolved to follow trends. The fashion house has signed partnerships with Issey Miyake, Comme des Garçons and Karl Lagerfeld, for collaborations that symbolize the label's revival.

Today this upmarket brand has a wide range of shoes, leather goods in Repetto's typical hues and a ready-to-wear collection, as well as their eponymous fragrance.

The key pieces:

The 'Cendrillon' ballet pump, the 'Zizi' oxford shoe, the 'Infante' T-strap shoe, the 'Sissone' bag, the 'Karole' tutu skirt, and Repetto eau de parfum.
